The 158-seater Symposium Hall, part of the Royal College of Surgeons, is in the centre of Edinburgh, just off the Royal Mile.
Symposium Hall is situated in the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh, approximately ten minutes' walk from Princes Street or Edinburgh Castle. Here you will find a map and directions to the college along with some links to external travel websites that you may find useful.
The nearest exit from the City Bypass (A702) is the Straiton junction. From here follow the signs for the city centre. The route is fairly straight, running through Liberton. At the foot of Liberton Brae (with the Savacentre shopping centre to your right) go straight on to Gilberton Road and then at Cameron Toll continue straight on at the lights. Keep going for about 2 kilometres. This continues into Clerk Street, which itself becomes Nicolson Street.
There are metered parking spaces in Hill Place (very limited) and Chambers Street. A public car park is close by at the Pleasance.
Edinburgh Waverley Station is ten minutes walk from Symposium Hall.
There is a frequent bus servive and plenty of taxis from Edinburgh Airport, situated to the west of the city. The airport bus (Lothian Buses number 100) terminates next to Waverley train station.
Inter-city bus services terminate at St Andrew's Square Bus Station, next to the St James shopping centre. You'll find frequent buses on Princes Street ó the stops on the north side of the street lined by shops. Services passing Symposium Hall include Lothian Buses numbers 3, 5, 7, 8, 14, 31, and 33.
